If you're new to the idea of recalling school board members, you're in the right place. We're here to explain what the recall process is, why it's important, and how you can get involved in our grassroots efforts to ensure a brighter future for our children in Milwaukee.

What is a School Board Recall?

A school board recall is a process by which voters can remove elected school board members from office before their terms expire. This is a powerful tool for accountability, allowing the community to take action when board members fail to uphold their responsibilities or act against the best interests of students and families.

Why Are We Pursuing a Recall?

In Milwaukee, several current MPS school board members have not been meeting the needs of our students. From mismanaging budgets to failing to address critical educational issues, these board members have demonstrated that they are not fit to serve. Our grassroots movement is dedicated to recalling these ineffective members and electing new leaders who are committed to transparency, accountability, and the betterment of our children's education.

The Recall Process

STEP 1: INITIATING THE RECALL

STEP 2: GATHERING SIGNATURES

Once the petition is filed, we need to collect a specific number of signatures from registered voters in the district. This is where our dedicated volunteers come in. Each signature represents a vote of no confidence in the current board member and a desire for change. Our goal is to gather as many signatures as possible to ensure the recall is successful.

STEP 3: SUBMITTING PETITIONS

After collecting the required number of signatures, the petition is submitted to the local election officials. They will verify the signatures to ensure they are valid. If the petition meets all the requirements, a recall election is scheduled.

STEP 4: THE RECALL ELECTION

After collecting the required number of signatures, the petition is submitted to the local election officials. They will verify the signatures to ensure they are valid. If the petition meets all the requirements, a recall election is scheduled.
